In this episode, we chat with vegan Ironman Luckie Sigouin from @luckielifestyle.
Luckie shares his story about going from a bodybuilder eating 300g of animal protein a day to eating a very restrictive low-calorie vegan diet in order to lose weight to get into modeling. Although that worked for him in the beginning, he then switched to a balanced vegan diet that allows him to thrive as a plant-based triathlete.
You can follow his journey on both Instagram and Youtube.

Dr. Matthew Nagra began his journey into plant-based nutrition over 10 years ago. Struggling with asthma, allergies, and weight control as a teenager, he decided to begin his transition towards a more plant-based diet, and to his surprise, those health issues vanished. During his studies at the University of Victoria, where he achieved a Bachelors of Science degree in Microbiology, he decided to make the switch to a 100% vegan diet and has been thriving on the lifestyle for over 8 years now.
In 2018 he graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine and is a proponent of the use of plant-based nutrition in treating many of our chronic diseases. He continues to learn about plant-based nutrition through Cornell University and has written articles for Dr. T Colin Campbell’s Center for Nutrition Studies. He also volunteers for Nutritionfacts.org, an excellent source of evidence-based nutrition information, where he supports viewers in their health journeys. He believes the evidence supporting a whole foods, plant-based diet is no longer refutable and aims to educate the public on how they too can take control of their health, starting with what’s on their plate.
